Even a small laundry room can help sell a house...

Ninety-three percent of homebuyers, both first-timers and repeat homebuyers, want a dedicated laundry room according to the pros at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In fact, it is number one on their wish lists.
If you’ll be selling, let’s get your laundry room ready for the spotlight.
THE NUMBER ONE RULE IN HOME STAGING
Advertise each room’s purpose. How does one do this? By removing anything from the room that doesn’t fit its purpose.
Remove exercise equipment from the bedroom, toys from the kitchen, and brooms and mops from the laundry room.
If something doesn’t get washed, dried or folded, or doesn’t help accomplish “doing the laundry,” it doesn’t belong in the laundry room.
CLEAR IT OUT
Remove everything from the laundry room, with the exception of the appliances. Then, take inventory:
- Does the room need to be painted or will a good wall scrubbing suffice?
- Are the appliances clean inside and out?
- Are there any accessories you need to purchase, borrow, or repurpose?
- How is the lighting?
Finally, it’s time to clean. Wipe down shelves, clean under and behind appliances and wash the floor. Don’t forget the baseboards and the ceiling fixtures.
MOVE IT BACK IN
Be ruthless about what you don’t allow back into the laundry room. Remember, this room’s purpose should be absolutely evident.
